Aim, Rules & Guidelines
The main aim of this group is to provide a safe place for residents of the Belarmine area in Stepaside to share concerns and information. Everyone is welcome to contribute — provided discussions remain civil, inclusive, and free of hate or discrimination. Treat everyone with courtesy and respect. Disagreement is fine — personal attacks, insults, or harassment are not.
Please DO NOT:
- Post chain letters or SPAM.
- Try to solicit money or publish any get-rich-easy schemes.
- Post any items or images that are pornographic or inappropriate.
- Try to sell illegal items or services, or engage in any illegal activity.
- Post items relating to alleged crimes in action (including videos, pictures, and/or links to similar items published elsewhere). These are not for public sharing, and if you believe you have some information relating to or involving a crime, you should share these details with the Garda directly.
- Engage in hate speech, harassment or bullying. Racism, incitement to hatred or ungrounded accusations will not be tolerated. i.e. Bullying of any kind isn’t allowed, and degrading comments about things such as race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated.
- Share or endorse divisive political content that targets individuals or groups. (Constructive discussion on current affairs is welcome only if conducted respectfully and factually.)
- Share false, misleading, or inflammatory information. (Verify the accuracy of any news, images, or quotes before posting and avoid conspiracy theories or unverified political claims.)
- Use the group as a platform for political campaigning, propaganda, or extremist views.
- Share private details of other members of the community that would fall under the remit of GDPR legislation. You may share your own information as you see fit.
REMEMBER to be kind. This group is about community and fun. Being part of this group requires mutual trust. Authentic, expressive discussions make groups great, but may also be sensitive and private. What’s shared in the group should stay in the group.
Prolonged discussions on a single topic that is not of general interest to the whole group should be moved to a private forum to avoid spamming the group.
Being kind and generous to each other is at our core. Inappropriate messages will be removed, and senders will be removed from the group. Content or comments that promote or excuse violence, hatred, or discrimination will result in immediate removal.
The decisions of the group admins are final and will not be debated in the group. Anyone who does not adhere to this group’s rules will be removed immediately.
